Looks like it'd work.

Just a side note- The knot that you are using to tie the tress cord to the carabiner...do you have to tie that and retie it everytime? If you use a double-fisherperson's loop knot (not the bend.....the knot) the eyes stay in there and you can unclip and clip without tying any knots!

Nick,

Good point about the Fisherman loop. The Fisherman loop is preferred for field use. The anchor hitch allows ease of adjustment to the cord during the testing phase.

Enjoy the Fisherman loop plus story that's attached. Well, maybe attached on the next posting?

Thank you rescueman for helping with the clarification. Don't you just love how knots (and trees) have different names everywhere you go. At least the trees have scientific names that are universal.

Hmmmmmmmmmm

Is anyone using the sliding double Fisherman's knot? Reference Jepson "The Tree Climber's Companion" 2nd edition page 91.

The benefit is that the knots cinches snugly against the carabiner. Additionally the knot is out of the way.

I couldn't find a pic of this knot. However this attached pic seemed fairly descriptive.

Regards,
JimK
