I've been experimenting with SRT in the past week or so and have one big problem my hitches are locking up too hard.

as of yesterday I'm using a (bottom to top rope attachment position)
-foot ascender (left)
-harness to a 3 wrap prusik
-foot loop (right), loop attched w/ blakes
-prusik from top of foot loop to prusik (loop on the standing line under the prusik)

climbline is arbor plex
harness prusik is arbor plex
foot loop is 9m cord
foot loop prusik is 9m cord

I'm trying to
-step up on the pantin
-pull up the foot loop to advance my foot and my prusik

It's VERY hard to advance the foot loop+prusik after loading it a few times. I end up having to break the prusik or blakes a little to get them to advance. Is there an adjustment I can make here to make this set up work? Suggestions other than more hardware?

After a while I just decided to ditch the pantin, flip flop my foot loop and split tail and continue w/ a regular foot loop assisted ascent. Stand, advance prusik, sit advance foot loop, rinse, repeat.

Thanks in advance-

Hitches grab hard when used SRT. No one had been able to figure out a solution until Kevin Bingham invented the Rope Wrench. I'm sure you could build one out of wood, that's what Kevin's early prototypes were made from, very simple. Not midline attachable.
