First crotch to high

Hi All,
Just started climbing. Having great fun.
I'd like to climb a birch in my back yard.
One or two branches need to be pruned. However,
there is no tie in points on the tree. it's very strait
and has no crotches. None that would hold me. (2" branches)
The trunk of the tree is around 14 inches.
Other then gaffing up the tree, how can I get up?

How high are the branches that need trimming?

What kind of tree is it? Can you post a picture?

If there truly isn't a way to set a rope above (how about around the trunk?) then you might like taking a couple slings, girth hitch them around the trunk and inchworm your way up...

That's what I was thinking. Is a girth hitch like making a false crotch? And how do I slide this up the tree while I'm attached to it?

False Crotch method. Well, still wonder how they ascend up. Slowly sling up one by one with lanyard to set the false crotch anchor point? Can we retrive the false crotch from ground level upon completion.
