Climbing Palm Trees with just a rope to wrap around the trunk??

Hi. please see attached photo. i can probably figure out how to climb a trunkless palm like in the picture on my own, but i was hoping somebody here might be able to give me some starting pointers? this isn't really the same "tree climbing" as this stuff here, as it's more like acrobatics or gymnastics... but im hoping somebody might know a little or can point me in the right direction. this would be for the purpose of doing performance art in front of audiences.
