Shout out from the Pacific Northwest.

Greetings from Bainbridge Island, WA. Close to the Cascades Mountains, Mount Rainier, Olympic National Park and one of a handful of the world's largest rain-forests. As a recreational tree climber, I climb for the sheer joy of being close to nature. Having done a week in the redwoods with a team from Cornell University's - Cornell Tree Climbing Institute, my initial instruction culminated with an ascent of close to 300', into a Giant Sequoia. I have since become a fully equipped, recreational tree climber.

A couple of things I should mention are that I wrote "A Week in the Trees: Climbing Redwoods". I'm also the admin for a community page on Facebook, known as "TreeHab".

Welcome to the forum! I keep threatening to stop by Syracuse and look up the Cornell tree climbing folks, one of these days. Looking forward to your climb reports when you get the chance!
