Thanks, Dan

Yo Dan,

I got all the details. The park is near Atlanta. Hank “Mantis” him got the gig. The parks and recreation departments of the Georgia area had a little meeting about programing possibilities. They talked about the new up-and-coming outdoor sport called tree climbing and called “Mantis” for details. They had seen what TCI had done near Atlanta in a county park and there is now good buzz about recreational tree climbing. We have been climbing in this county park now for, 4 years. A lot of this happened because new people were elected into the office of Parks and Recreation that was favorable to trying something new. Lucky TCI!

So it's really good that we are getting favorable attention here in Atlanta. Sometimes it takes time waiting out hesitant or non-creative administrations to give the go-ahead on recreational tree climbing. Even though we have a spotless record world wide with recreational tree climbing, people just don't get that there are possibilities with new recreational activities that can draw people to their public parks.

We still do not have permission to climb in Atlanta city proper. We have passed through two administration elected cycles and we might get a chance this time around. But we are fighting a city ordinance against tree climbing in any park in Atlanta. So it's a little bit of an upstream battle for us here in Atlanta, but at least we are not swimming against a raging opposing current as we have been in the previous two city park administrations.
