Yes this quite the heater. Which brings up the topic of...tics! Don't forget to do the occasional critter check when you're out and about. When I was doing right-of-way clearance we were always off the beaten path. Which of course just happened to be smack dab in the middle of Ticville, U.S.A.
Another pest is of course the ever presence of poison ivy. Although this can be anything from a mild nuisance to a trip to the ER for a shot, it can also be a wonderful opportunity to adapt and overcome. I have a silver maple that I've been eyeing up for a while now, but it just happens to have a thick PI vine running half way up the trunk. Fortunatly the shape of the tree is such that I can opt for a branch route up to the top. I had to do this before on a HUGE sycamore that I climbed a couple of years ago.
