S. Calif. training group? was created by Donald1800
Does anyone know of someone in S. Calif. that can train in Tree Climbing? I just found this site and would love to get started.

Thanx for any help with this. Donald

Donald
"Nick from WI" (Araya) is now working in California. (LA). He may be willing and able to work with you if you can meet somewhere convenient to both of you. He may be replying soon to you as soon as he reads the postings. Hope that you can get the training you want in the min-time you may want to order and read Dick Flowers Booklet "Introduction to Tree Climbing" and also the "Tree Climbers Companion" from Jeff Jepson. You can order both books from New Tribe.com
That way you have some of the basic info on terminology, tree hazards, safety rules, basic gear requirements, before the actual first class. Good luck and welcome to the board. Here is Nick's Info copied from the Treebuzz site. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. 760-908-5971

Thank you so much for the info. Now that I know that there is someone who can train or suggest a trainer, I will be getting the texts you suggest and some basic equipment. This looks like a blast.

Donald, Depending on the amount of money that you want to put into this "hobby" New Tribe offers a good starting kit that may have all you need or you can buy parts form other suppliers as you become familiar w/ the equipment use. You may consider ordering the new catalog from Sherrill Arborist suppliers specifically targeted towards recreational tree climbers called "Ascend" it is full of useful information and lots of nice toys(gear) and practical advise.
