Chris (aka Livnitup23), in another thread, was asking for suggestions for summer-camp-type games to play in the treetops. That started me to thinking: What is appropriate and what is not when playing games in the treetops? What should the guidelines be to ensure that safety is not compromised while having fun?

A couple of things come to mind:

1) The game should involve skill, but not speed. Focussing on speed can lead to mistakes in other areas and that is a very bad thing at 50'. The only exception I can think of is when the game involves speed, but the participant is required to mantain a static position.

2) The game manipulations should be completely separate from your life-support aparatus. (i.e. do not attach things to your rope or to someone else's.) Obviously, your rope can be used to re-position you for the game, but the "psycological wall" between your safety equipment and your game equipment should be preserved.

That's my 2-cent's worth off the top of my head. What can you add to the list?
