Since we're talking about static ropes in another thread, Bluewater II is excellent for single rope technique typically using mechanical devices like handled ascenders. As Patty mentioned you can't use it for doubled rope hitch climbing (DRT) since the rope is too stiff to form a hitch. A climber can use a split tail (rated hitch cord at least 8mm diameter) to climb DRT with a static rope. Not optimal but can work. These are considered advanced techniques. A supple double-braid arborist rope is optimal for a versatile tree climbing rope.
