my wooden rope wrench was created by chiutai
This is my self made wooden rope wrench inspired from ISC_ZK2 rope wrench. I used it for climbing several times, it's heavy but it still works. the disadvantage is that it falls to press the friction rope during ascending and has the danger of falling the climber.
The body is made from 2 pine board cut to shape and 3 short sections of rolling pin with holes in them. the holes is then bolted to combine all the elements together. the tether I used is a scouting rope.

That's pretty neat. If you put a stiff tether on it the device will engage much better when you load the system and it won't flop down onto the hitch. Look at the stiff tether on treestuff.com there's usually a piece of rubber tubing at the top of the tether that limits the wrench pivoting downward and makes it engage immediately when you sit back on the system.
