Trango Cinch vs. Grigri

I was looking for an alternative to Grigri and I found Trango Cinch, but do it asctually work like a Grigri? and can I use it combined with an hand ascenter for ropeclimping?

Yes, same functionality as the Grigri. Make sure the Cinch specs match your rope construction and diameter. I found the Cinch released hard and did not provide the smooth descent I like, that was on 10mm Sterling HTP. I retired it to be used as a grab and release for a portable mechanical advantage lifting system.
