Ring 2 Ring alternative, axle strap? was created by buswrappervern

I am about to order a set of Arborist rings for personal use.

I was in the shop and have several of these hanging on a pegboard. 10,000lb axle straps. Attach Biner and a mallion? hmmm. Rope bend angle. $60 for real rings vs $12 for the axle straps.

Viable? Safe?

Your math comparison is incorrect- please add up all hardware needed added to your $12 strap to make it work and the price is not worth it compared to the $60 ready to use falsh crotch. Just for peace of mind I have no problem to pay more for any item used to hang my bag of bones off the ground.

Ditched that thought, one of those spoke out loud thoughts. Already have the stuff but too floppy anyway. And its my life, not a load on my trailer.

Good move. The other bad part about using the axle strap is you'd have to add mallions or carabiners, with a ring/ring you have a rope friendly radius on the rings so no extra hardware required.
