Delta Ring with New Tribe Saddle was created by Jill
When using the New Tribe Saddle... does the delta ring go with the small end up or down... funny question but in the pictures on different sites eveyone has it different. Seems like the small end would go up so when you load it the three attachment points would be at the bottom and the single line you hang on would be at the top in the narrow end.

Thanks Jill

From what I understand, deltas may be loaded from any direction. So right or wrong, I use mine point down on my Tengu. It's a lot easier to add a second biner or two when you have the flat bar of the delta on top.

For what it's worth, I will be changing over to the larger pear shaped screw link soon. Should have ordered it that way in the first place. Lots more room for attachment with that.

Thanks!
It will be nice to not worry about it when we have a lot of kids to put up the tree. We are in need of more deltas, but I will look at the pear first. Thanks for the tips. Jill

Jill,

For a little more on this, go to http://www.treeclimbing.com/content/view/168/84/ Read Peter Jenkins' take on it. After all he IS the (tree)man.

I have used both the triangular ones and the pear shaped ones and have used them in both the up and dowm configuration. If there are many biners ( 2 or more) attached to the Delta the wider part point up is easier to work with. If there is only one biner conected all the time during the climb ( so not tranfers or multiple attachments) then the narrow point pointing up is easier to monitor and keep it nice. Like Baker said the Delta can be safely loaded in any direction while properly close!
