I copied petzls sewn eye termination, then whipped the entire rope end. Instead of using 10lb test polyester thread like Petzl uses (SEE PIC), i used 100lb test polyester sailmakers cord for the "g-splice (technically a sewn eye termination), then i whipped over the sewn eye with a siezing whipping.
initial tests using a slow steady pull with a 4 to 1 Z rig and a 4ton come-along yielded zero slippage or thread tearing, or rope damage. Took it out, low and slow, and bounced on it with a (hefty) buddy. agian no slippage o, thread tearing or rope damage. Might be a viable option for Arborplex users, becasue we cant splice arborplex.
Petzl gsplice:
< this is what i started with, except with 100lb testr thread, then i whipped over it with a siezing whip.
