Seeking Climbing Friendly areas in Raleigh NC Area

Hello All,

My partner and I recently moved to the triangle and are looking for good climbing spots in the area. There are certainly a lot of big beautiful trees in the area, but none on our property unfortunately.

Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Pat,

Welcome to the Triangle! There are a few of us recreational climbers in the area. Walter Hollenbeek lives in Garner and has a tree he has offered to any climbers in the area. I usually climb in the Hillsborough/Chapel Hill area in county parks where I have gotten permission to lead group climbs. I do have a few great spots that I don't share publicly, but if you send me an email I'd be glad to share them with you.
