I live in western Iowa and I am interested in learning how to climb. I have no gear and I have no clue where to start. I am willing to learn and if I have to I will pay to learn. Thanks.

For equipment check out the rec climbing kits offered by New Tribe and WesSpur. I would have saved quite a bit of money if I had started with one of those kits. As it is, going at it piecemeal, I've spent $1300+ and barely have some of the basics covered.
