Several members of this forum are interested in climbing Redwood trees. Would those who have experience climbing Redwood trees please share with us?
I've clipped a couple links. I understand there are two members of this forum who are listed in these links.

One big thing that one must be ready for is that the redwood branches often tend to slope down from the trunk. Keep an eye out for that!

I've been able to hand throw my way into a few redwoods, but a big shot, or more effective way of setting line will make more trees climbable in the big forests.

Look out for park rangers...find a tree well away from a trail.

As soon as the snow melts, we can be on our way!

Is there a technique for this "downward limb angle"? I have a few thoughts. Anyone with some experience want to weigh in? Thanks.

anything near you in goleta? if the weather changes from this darn rain, my english arborist cousin and i will be in gaviota this weekend. perhaps we could scout something together. I'm the one who posted earlier, looking for a redwood climbing companion.

his dream, as i said, is to climb a very tall California tree.

Hi,
There are a good number of medium size trees in Goleta. I have been climbing a beautiful Euaclyptus with 90' crown and a huge span. This tree is strong and healthy-with room for 8 climbers. I have a tag line in it to 50'. It's in a business park-can be climbed on the weekend. It's on a semi-busy corner. But, no one has bothered me. It's unposted private property. We could be chased off.
I work afternoons on the weekend. You can call me at home 805-968-0505 or cell 805-252-4289.
Robert
