hi there,
i've climbeb plenty of big strangler figs, but feel out of one last year, so am looking to get into tree climbing with the correct gear, ect,ect ..
am having trouble finding anyone in northern qld, australia, who teachers or does course.
but anyway, I am curious if anyone out there is experienced with climbing Ficus trees, there are hundreds of species in the Ficus genus, but I'm generally focusing on rainforest strangler figs...
the most magnificent being Ficus macrophylla, Ficus obliqua, Ficus watkinsiana & also Ficus superba
back home, in northern nsw-south east qld, these trees attract a very rare bird, the Coxens fig-parrot (Cyclopsitta diaphthalma coxeni). no one has ever photographed it and there is estimated to be less then 100 birds surviving in the canopy of remaining sub-tropical rainforests
so you can see where this is all going ...
cheers
