My late New Year's climb

Finally got my first climb in of the new year Jan 2. Biked to the tree, set the rope just before sundown and spent some time sitting at the top shooting some photos. Big bad cold front coming in, just getting a taste of it in the tree, brisk but not too cold at that point. On the way down remembered a particularly difficult lesson from a previous night climb, best to re-pitch my way down rather than try and take the rope out of the high pitch in the dark, especially on a conifer. So that's what I did and everything worked out well getting the rope out of the tree.
