StUpid FeeT! was created by ~kelstree
Close call i had during my 1st time climbing.
i was using the techhnique "texas kick" ( the only technique i really know.
Just as my dad was walking inside, i touched the knot to bring me down as i was lifting myself up on the rope. :(
Foot in face, i screamed... ( sort of... more like whaling)
my dad tried to pull me down, squeezing my foot tighter :S
Ouch.
But eventually , I got down, and I lived ( miracuously, haha )
YAY! I live to see another day!

has anyone experienced the same thing here?

First off, welcome aboard kelstree.

Question, what's the "Texas kick"? I live in PA. Maybe you could describe it to us. I might know it by another name. Often times, a name used for a given technique is regional.

Also, "just as your dad was walking inside" ,...more info please. This sounds like it may be a funny story. Especially since noone got hurt.

she was using a modified footlock , but now prefers the "frog technique". she had a "stopper knot" lower down , it was one of those "turn your back for a second" moments we parents all know too well. nobody got hurt ,We learned and moved on .

i've been hooked on climbing for 34 years and now she is too!!!
