I'm seriously thinking about driving up after a upcoming trip to the area.

Thanks for getting me hooked on caching again Nick.

Perhaps we can get a fancy grappnel for the next one?

So treeocache1 has been found by several people now. You have to read about it at geocaching.com, just search for "treeocache 1"

Nick, Nick, Nick...that is just the coolest thing. I'd never thunk it. I just registered at geocache.com and found your treeocache 1 info on-line. The WebFooted Wonder who got to it first had a great time...you can tell by his write-up.

I am going to look into putting a pvc tube cache together and setting one up (way up!!) down here in GA somewhere.

Thanks for the great idea.

Do it, guys. Geogaching.com is a great website and I thing if enough people get into this, they'll eventually make it a seperate classification.

"micro cache, regular cache, multi cache, treeocache, etc..."

I'm looking to do another here in CA real soon.

Nick,

I just figured out the "painfully obvious" theme!!! ...at least the visual/scientific aspect of it. Great "rubba slippa" (flip-flop to most folks).

Still playing with the TOC 2 idea down here.

Sitka,

Like most things it depends on who you ask and how much you are going to spend.

For me I like the Garmins...not that the others are bad, I have just always used Garmin.

I have a 60C (well I actually have about 3-4 but the 60C is the one I use the most) and it is excellent. If you are just looking for a starter GPS the 60C is actually a pretty good choice since it is now 2 generations old but still an excellent unit. You can get one for about $175 used on e-bay or $225 new

I am sure there are other nice units out there as well.
