Kansas climbers? was created by cooninator
Howdy,
I'm looking for Kansas climbers. I suppose I'll worry about finding the trees later.
I've been free climbing trees my whole life. I'd love to get some gear and scale much larger trees without the fear of serious injury.
Two or three days I ago, I just found out about this serious tree climbing. And I have been pumped up about it. I'm ready to climb! :D

Cooninator,

I don't know if you were one of the folks who showed up Saturday, but if not, and you are somewhere else in Kansas, I travel most of the state at one time or another and would love to show you what we do.

Let me know

Bill

Dan, Bill and Stan;
How did the T.C.K.C. climb go this past weekend?

It was beautiful weather down here in Atlanta,
we had over 35 first time climbers at the intro. climb from the 50 or so folks that showed up.
It was a busy day with lots of canopy smiles.

Looking forward to your report.

Adventure-UP!!

Tim,

We had 5 or 6 get up in the trees plus a dozen or so enjoying the tree tramp. Did Dan tell you about the school carnival climb we did? Kids bought tickets (it was a fundraiser for the school) and Stan and I probably got 45 or so kids up and down. Seemed like we spent most of our time getting saddles on and off.

Hey, we finally got a website. I made it myself so it's not too frilly. Big learning curve building a website! Anyway, we are still working on it but check it out if you get a chance. At least you'll be able to see the progress as I make improvements. Oh, and if you see anything that does not look right, let me know.

Have fun in Oregon, I'm jealous!

hey cooninator, if not to far east in ks, can find some fun trees and provide the gear. i've been wanting to climb the cottenwoods at Scott Lake. I am new to using discussion groups but not to climbing. To learn this if you have the time and are not yet in a rec climbing group, ask an ISA Arborist for a part time temporary job.

Welcome wrzimmer,
I hope all of you Kansas folks get togehter. Tell us here if you do. I hear it is a bit frosty for you now. Snow climbs can be very pretty, as long as the wind is down. We do not get much of that kind of weather here in Atlanta, but when we do it is a good reason to climb. Everything looks so clean with the snow. Sounds are muffled too- which is a bonus. Keep in touch Kansas people.
