Did I misspell safe-ties? I meant the plural of safety-as in a secondary connection. When I go on a traverse at 170' should I have something else tying me in?

When I transition from SRT to DRT, should I always use a personal lanyard?

How do we communicate this conceptually?

Foundation guideline: always tied-in while in the tree. In any kind of transistion from one tie-in to another you should (must) remain tied in to the first secure anchor until you have tested the second tie-in/anchor. If the way you are using the equipment (switching DdRT to SRT on the same rope) doesn't allow this then a lanyard should be used for fall protection during the switchover.
