Most new climbers share the same confusion when they buy gear for the first time: "There's so much out there! What should I get?" "Will it hold up?" "Will it empty my wallet?" Excellent questions, as you can spend a fortune buying what you don't need before you even begin to buy what you do need.

TCI can loan gear to any student who comes to Atlanta for our classes. We have everything you'll use, plus some; and we suggest that if you don't own your own equipment, wait until you try ours before you start buying. If you have your own saddle, please bring it with you, as we like to train people in their own saddle if possible. If not, your tree climbing class will be an excellent opportunity to check out some different saddle styles to see what's comfortable. You'll also get to see lots of different types of ropes, carabiners, and all of the other equipment that tree climbers need. Your instructor will be very knowledgeable about tree climbing gear.
