Light and durable - great for kids

I use this for kids climbs and it's very easy to use and adjust. It's also very light.

A friend of mine uses heavy DEET bug spray in the forest and his similar helmet weakened because of it. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself. He tossed it into his truck and it cracked.

I had never had this issue with the 3 of these that I own.

Here Ya Go Kids

This is the lid we use for the kids at our facilitated events. We use the size 1, (small). I tried it on myself. My head is 22", size 7, and the Elios just fits. I could use it in a pinch, but would rather not. The chin strap cannot possibly be adjusted out enough for me, however, it works well for the kids. The size adjust wheel is a big plus. For what we use it for, it does well enough.

Not for an odd sized head.

I do not own the Elios, but I tried it on and considered it for almost an hour before opting to purchase another helmet.

I tried the size 2, but is was a bad fit. The adjustment went small enough for my little noggin, but then the helmet stuck out off of the back of my head REALLY far. I was afraid it would get caught in branches etc.

Then, I tried the size 1. Again, it was possible to adjust the suspension to fit my head, but this time it looked like I had a margarine tub on my head - it was just too small. I felt like there would not be very much side impact protection either, and it just wasn't very comfortable. The foam liner is hard and bumpy. I couldn't see wearing this helmet for a short tree climb let alone a long day on rock.

I passed on the Elios and purchased a small Grivel Salamander - much better fit, simpler adjustment, and better coverage.

light and economical for Petzl

I got this helmet for my wife. I found it to be nice light, economical safety equipment that helped my non-climbing wife feel more comfortable with climbing and using proper PPE. It has easy adjustments and fits all types of heads. It adjustment system is similar to the Petzl Vert, but using a bicycle helmet style asorbtion core. It is not approve by ANSI so I'm stuck paying a little more for the Vert to be in compliance for my work protection. It might just be me, but I got limb tips stuck in the large ventilation holes...don't know?
