For all of those folks who use New Tribe saddles....

What model do you have / recommend?

What custom options did you choose, if any when you ordered your saddle?

If you had to do it again, what options would you order the next time.

Also what hardware do you keep on the delta link / pear link. Swivel? Petzl Paw? Nothing?

Wow. Not a lot of traffic on this site at all.........

Very little or no member presence compared to other sites........

Anyway. This is what I have been looking at:

New Tribe Work Saddle
Custom large D's
Two extra gear loops, one on each side next to the metal rings
Maybe two carabiner gaps also depending on $
SS Pear or Delta but not from New Tribe, You can get them much cheaper from Wesspur or Sherrill.

Saving my money now, so feel free to make any suggestions......still doing some research on other saddles.......

NT Tengu is my favorite, the default options work for me, I substitute a pear screwlink for the delta so I get a more room for attachments, especially useful for SRT climbing.

Rumor has it that New Tribe is coming out with a floating anchor/bridge harness, might be worth waiting to see what that's all about.

I believe it already has two carabiner gaps, at least the Tengu does, I have an NT zippered pouch and a carabiner installed in each slot.

Even if I spend a couple extra dollars I try to buy gear as much as I can from New Tribe to support what they're doing (small business making great harnesses and gear in the good ole' USA

Note: If you buy SS delta or pear separately from Wesspur or Sherrill you'll pay shipping and negate the savings.

Cost is not a factor when it comes to getting totally hand made, quality products from a dedicated company like New Tribe. One of the benefits of buying from them is customer service. never have I called them and got a call taker, order taker, or receptionist. Real owners, users, and fabricators answer you questions or concerns.

And if you think about the cost, my motto is: "You protect a cheap body with cheap gear."

I confirmed with New Tribe by email that the saddle Moss talked about IS going to be released this summer. Looks like I'll be waiting to see the details before I buy anything.....I'm sure it will be worth the wait. I wonder if they will offer custom options like their other saddles.

As for buying decent priced equipment.....I can understand supporting a business that you like or would like to support. New Tribe would fall into that for sure. For example, they responded to my info request within 12 hours, that's great customer service!

On the other hand, I have to make every dollar count. I don't like buying cheap equipment.....I like buying top notch gear for a great price! That's never a bad thing. Since I'm planning on making a large order from Wesspur shipping will be free on the SS link. Which is a company I like to support and buy from too. Always great customer service from Wesspur also.

A dollar saved on quality equipment is another dollar I can spend on other equipment or bills for that matter.

Didn't intend to get all preachy on you :-) Wesspur is a great gear retailer, they are my go-to when NT doesn't have what I'm looking for.

It's all good Moss....

Thanks for the heads-up on the "new" New Tribe saddle. I never would have known if you didn't say anything.......

Those gear gaps sound useful, I hope they include 2 as standard equipment on the new harness. I could see filling those gaps with some Mad Rock wire gate 'biners loaded with equipment.

Looks nice. I know you can't really tell from a picture, but it looks as though you'd have to tie your bridge awfully short in order to be able to reach your hitch for decent. Interresting concept though.
