Anybody else going to this? It's only about 4 hours from home for me, and I've heard it's pretty fun to watch.

TCI will be running the Kids Climb again here like the two previous years. Make sure you come say hello. We will be in two trees again too. It is very busy with no let ups as far as climbers are concerned.

The 2006 ITCC is going be great!
You guys are gonna have a blast. Man I wish I could fit it in :(

Actually, If I could do anything I want. . .
I would get the entire Marquand Park climb crew and fly all five of us out there to meet ya’s! Now that would be a party. <sigh>
So how does that saying go ? ? ?
If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride.

Basking in envy here in the swamps of Jersey,

I'd love to go to the ITCC but will be focusing my resources on making it to the Recreational Tree Climbing Rendezvous '06 in October. EJ, please tell me you're going to be there! We need to represent the northeast, yes?

You HAVE to come down to The Cities for this event. If you don't you're going to really regret it.

Plan on getting to Loring Park early Saturday morning in order to have the time to watch all of the competitors.

Be sure to find me when you're there...if you don't see me, ask around, we'll hook up sometime.

Strong limbs and single ropes!

You guys are gonna make me cry :(

Believe me, I would go to every event that was ever posted if I could. I would climb until my skinny old arms were exhausted and then I’d switch over to photography and work from the ground with camera in-hand.

Yeah, getting back to reality. . .
Minnesota is a tad exotic for my current means.
However, Massachusetts for this Fall & Atlanta for next is looking like a sure deal! :)

Also. . .
The Tree Climbing Rendezvous for 2006 is Biloxi, Ms. and for 2007 is Atlanta? - yes/no???

Thanks,
Ej

OK, now I have to make sure I get down there, and if Peter & TCI are running a kids climb I may need to see if I can talk my family into coming along. Can you guys take 7 and 9 year olds up?... Joshua (7) has been interested for a while, and while Lily (9) always says she prefers freeclimbing I suspect she'd be into it.

The ISA "Kids' Climb" has been re-named the "Fun Climb." Anybody -- kids and adults -- can climb with us this year. Stop in and say hello!

The 2007 Rendezvous won't be in Atlanta. Actually, we're thinking we'll host it in 2008, TCI's 25th Anniversary. Harv, you found a place for this year. What do you think about hosting in Colorado next year?
Hope to see y'all in Mississippi THIS year!
Patty

2007 in Colorado is certainly doable. We'll have to talk in MS. The place that I had lined up for 2006 will still be available, and I can continue to check out other sites with more hardwoods. Meantime, check out

1,000 acres of mountains, streams, and trees, including a 400-500 year-old ponderosa I discovered on my last visit.

Ponderosa, That Calwood at Jonestown CO. site looks very nice and the facilities look very comfortable. I hope that you guys can put it together. Hope they have great trees to climb. Looking forward to another great Tree Climbing get together. See you in Jackson MS in October.

Oldtimer,
I only spent one afternoon visiting the site. But I saw lots of good pondies and even some good (by Colorado standards) climbable Doug Firs. The place is so big that I only visited a few climbing areas. I climbed and did some minor deadwooding on a ponderosa that would make a good DRT training tree. Saw only a few small hardwoods - aspen and cottonwood. Many, many more areas left to explore on this property, but the ones I was in were isolated, pristine, and beautiful.
