Nice Sleeve.

This is my first friction saver and overall I'm satisfied. I would like to try a conduit sleeve later on but for now this one works just fine.

Form and function

It's simple. It works. It's light. Granted they get a tad squishy on a rainy day. But you can always 1. reform it or 2. Stay home that day and drink copious amounts of cappucino and write gear reviews till the rain lets up. Hard to beat this old favorite.

Leather Sleeve - if you only have one, this is it.

After reading the two previous reviews. it's all Yes's.

All I can add is, when both it and the line get wet, it does not glide nearly as well. More than once I have started a climb and then bagged the whole thing for a different tree because of the resistance.

Other than wet weather, this thing rocks. Easy and fun.

Simply the best cambium saver period

Simply the best cambium saver, period. Don't waste you money on the metal conduit type savers. I've owned my for years and it looks brand new. A friend had to replace is metal conduit type saver after less than 1 year. Works well in tighter crotches.

Easy up - easy Down!

Super easy for a rookie to use the first time out - Easy up - Easy down. Thanks to Peter's great instruction on the TCI basics video.

I lubricated one of my sleeves with talc right away, because I didn't know how slippery it would be "dry". They both worked fine either way. Also, I like the idea of using a natural material next to the bark. I don't know, maybe it's me, but it just seems less damaging to the cambium than plastic.

As for portability, I took peter's idea, and added a loop of accessory cord to the middle and clipped them to the daisy chain on my pack - never knew they were there.
