Sidekick line retriever

A very handy tool and light weight, but is very susceptible to damage. There is a tendency for the last section to come out on its own. If you don't notice it will very quickly become bent and unusable. Also the end hook on mine came loose and was spinning around and seemed it might come out.

I have mostly solved both problems. In order to stop the last section from sneaking out on its own, I attacked a small bungee cord to the hook end and stretched up the handle attaching the other end to a cord wrapped around the handle. Problem two I took care of by pushing in some plumber's epoxy around the hook.

It still is very subject to getting bent. While hanging from your belt you have to watch that it doesn't go between limbs or crotches and/or ladder rungs. I have bent mine once in minor way but was able to straighten. A great tool, but for nearly fifty bucks you need to be very careful.
