Unicender leads the way up the rope!

Don't think that I pencil whipped the 5's into the Ratings.

After climbing on the Uni for several years I'm 100% convinced that this tool is the future of tree climbing. The Uni can be used in place of a friction hitch in a traditional DdRT system. The place where it leads every other rope access tool is in SRT though. There is NO other tool that can be used for ascent and descent with NO changeover.

Adding an adjustable tether between the Uni and the harness allows the climber to have it in the perfect place for ascent, movement around the tree, limb walking and descent.

The most common 'complaint' is that the Uni is expensive. Compared to a free friction hitch it is a steep price. But, when performance is compared it is way out in front. After putting together many different SRT access systems the Uni is only a little more expensive than the combined cost of all of the other components.

Over the years I've taken people on first climbs and have put them on the Uni. Then I setup a DdRT system for them. They grown, grimace and struggle with movement.
