Effective and Secure

I cannot imagine choosing a foot ascender that disengages in the middle of a climb, as I would find it unsettling. This ascender offers great security because the rope cannot release once locked in place; that said, it disengages and locks open with a simple hand motion. It can handle large-diameter ropes; I use Samson Vortex (12.7 mm) and it drops through the ascender freely. The straps secure it tightly in the proper position, yet the buckle's pull releases easily. Finally, the ascender's teeth do no apparent damage to the rope (and I weigh 250 lbs). The price, function, and quality would be hard to beat.
