Goodbye footlocking

This is a must piece of kit for any climber. Goodbye foot locking:)

But Beware!!!!
When using the pantin on long ascents, but be sure to clip a carabiner in the front hole to prevent the cam accidentally opening. Without a carabiner in the hole, it will open with a backward sweep of the leg. This can be very handy feature or a nasty surprise. Not a bad thing, just something to be aware of.

Please be extra careful whilst climbing around in the tree with your pantin on, remember you have a piece of metal strapped to the inside of your ankle, they can damage the cambium very easily.
It is really small, so take it off and stuff it in your pouch once you are up there.

Climb high, be safe
Peace

Nice simple ascender.

Having already reviewed the cmi foot ascender I purchased a petzl for my son. I have used the cmi alot in the past 4 months and sometimes I have to re-tighten the strap while ascending. The petzl strap is stronger, more simple and stays secure. Both do a great job in getting you up the rope but I can see that I may have to get a new strap for the cmi. The cmi is a little cheaper but the quality and durability of the petzl is worth it if you are going to do a lot of climbing.
